The Dream: Escape the City, Embrace the Coast

“We were living in Lisbon, in a cold, concrete apartment that never felt quite right,” says Sofia. “We loved the city, but we were craving more space, more peace… more nature.”

With remote work now a permanent part of their lives, they decided it was time to make a change not just where they lived, but how they lived.

They wanted something modern, minimalist, and sustainable. Something that felt like it belonged to the land but didn’t come with the damp walls and high energy bills of a traditional Portuguese home.

The Build: A Collaborative, Transparent Process

From their very first meeting, Sofia and Daniel felt the difference.

Together, we designed a two-bedroom home with panoramic ocean views, open living spaces, and plenty of natural light. Using North American-style wood construction, the entire home was framed and enclosed in a matter of weeks not months.

A Home That Breathes

Now, Sofia and Daniel wake up to birdsong, walk barefoot on their natural wood floors, and work with the ocean as their backdrop.

“The air in our house is always fresh. It’s never too hot or cold, and there’s no humidity even in the winter,” says Sofia. “Our energy bills are lower than they’ve ever been.”

More than that, their home feels personal a reflection of their values and the kind of life they want to live.
